Investment Account
Your Investment Account is essentially made up of:
- all investments in your Investment Plan(s); and
- all monies held in any Cash Account(s) established in respect of your Investment Plan(s) (if applicable).
Custody of Assets
For all investment assets held under an Investment Account, a custodian (the "Custodian") is appointed to hold such assets on behalf of all Navigator investors.
Currently, Navigator is performing the role of the Custodian in relation to all investment assets held under the Investment Accounts of all Navigator investors. Navigator is licensed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore as a Capital Markets Services Licensee under the Securities and Futures Act (Cap. 289) to provide Custodial Services.
There are currently no expenses or costs payable for custodial services.
For further details on the role of the Custodian, please read the section on "Custodial Services" under the Investment Account Terms and Conditions.
Cash Accounts
A Cash Account may be established in respect of certain Investment Plans held by you, in accordance with the provisions of the Investment Account Terms and Conditions.
Monies held under any Cash Account are placed in trust accounts with licensed financial institutions and may be co-mingled with monies of other Navigator investors. Navigator maintains a register recording the monies held by each Navigator investor in their Cash Account(s).
A Cash Management Fee is charged per month, or part thereof, on the average cash balance held in any Cash Account for each calendar month. For more information on applicable fees, please click here.
Cash Accounts should not be used as bank accounts and monies should not be placed in these accounts solely for the purpose of earning interest (if interest is payable) on such monies. Monies placed in any Cash Account are not protected under the Deposit Insurance Scheme.
Opening an Investment Account
As Navigator does not provide any financial advice with respect to individual investment objectives, financial situation or particular needs, applications to open an Investment Account may only be made through a Financial Adviser.
Financial Advisers are able to help investors determine their personal financial needs and objectives, including investment risk tolerance and investment horizon, and can then recommend a suitable Navigator Investment Plan for each investor's specific circumstances.
If you currently do not have the services of a Financial Adviser, Navigator has partnerships with a number of Financial Advisory Firms, whose qualified representatives can advise you on structuring an investment portfolio to match your personal risk profile and financial objectives.

Contract Currencies
Navigator now offers Investments Plans in 2 Contract Currencies: -
- Singapore Dollar (SGD) – Available for all Investment Plans; and

If available, you may select your preferred Contract Currency when you apply for a new Investment Plan to be opened under your Investment Account. The Contract Currency of an Investment Plan may not be revised after the Plan has been opened.

The Plan allows you to invest a fixed sum of money at a nominated frequency, into a particular fund or funds of your choice, without the need for the minimum initial investment that is otherwise required for the Easy Save Option under the Standard Investment Plans.
As the Easy Save Plan is specifically for regular savings, no lump sum investments are accepted under the Plan, making it easy for you to monitor and track the performance of a portfolio built solely on regular investments.
The Easy Save Plan is only available for cash investments under the Flexible Entry Fee Option.
For more information on the Easy Save Plan, please contact your Financial Adviser.
The Cash Management Plan
The Cash Management Plan, available in both SGD and USD, is a unique Investment Plan created to help you get the most out of your cash by delivering a select fund range, consisting primarily of money market or cash-types funds, for you to choose from. The funds available under the Cash Management Plan are all managed by Navigator's professional Fund Management partners.
Furthermore, the Cash Management Plan provides the same degree of simplicity and convenience for you to perform fund switches when you need to, and even has the flexibility to allow you to switch out from the Plan to invest under any of your other Investment Plans that use cash funds.
The Cash Management Plan is only available for cash investments under the Flexible Entry Fee Option, and is subject to the minimum investment levels set out in the Schedule – Funds Investment .
For more information on the Cash Management Plan, please contact your Financial Adviser.
The Accredited Invest Plan
The Accredited Invest Plan, available in both SGD and USD, is a new Investment Plan introduced to allow investment into a wide range of funds, which are registered with the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), under the Restricted Authorised / Recognised Schemes (Before 1 Oct 2009) or Restricted Singapore / Foreign Schemes (From 1 Oct 2009). These funds are available only to qualified accredited investors as defined in the Securities and Futures Act (Cap.289 of Singapore).
With the Accredited Invest Plan, qualified accredited investors will now have access to an even wider range of funds managed by reputable Fund Management Companies. They can also take advantage of more investment opportunities as well as gain access to alternative investments, which utilizes sophisticated and/or complex investment techniques and strategies.
The Accredited Invest Plan is only available for cash investments under both the Flexible Entry Fee Option and Deferred Entry Fee Option, and is subject to the minimum investment levels set out in the Schedule – Funds Investment.
For more information on the Accredited Invest Plan, please contact your Financial Adviser.
Easy Save Option
The Easy Save Option is a regular savings facility that allows you to invest a fixed sum of money at a nominated frequency, into a particular fund or funds of your choice, under any of the Standard Investment Plans.
The Easy Save Option is offered under all available Investment Plans, and is subject to the minimum investment levels set out in the Schedule – Funds Investment or accessible here.
For more information on the Easy Save Option, please contact your Financial Adviser.
Regular Cashback Facility
The Regular Cashback Facility pays out a fixed amount of money at a nominated frequency from an Investment Plan, at your request. Regular Cashbacks are paid out from monies held in any applicable Cash Account and/or by redemption of investments under the relevant Investment Plan.
The Regular Cashback Facility is only offered under Investment Plans using Cash or SRS monies, and is subject to the minimum cashback amount set out in the Schedule – Funds Investment or accessible here.
For more information on the Regular Cashback Facility, please contact your Financial Adviser.
Investment Transactions
There are basically 3 types of transactions that can be made under an Investment Plan:
Fund Subscriptions (Buy)
This is normally where your Financial Adviser will recommend a selection of funds to meet your personal financial needs and objectives, and which suit your risk tolerance and investment horizon. You then have to make a decision on whether to subscribe, or "buy", into the funds as recommended by your Financial Adviser.
Your can use the Funds Finder to find out more about any recommended funds by your Financial Adviser, or even to research other funds that you may be interested to subscribe in.
Funds Subscriptions are subject to the minimum investment levels set out in the Schedule – Funds Investment or accessible here.
Fund Switches (Switch)
Funds are dynamic investments and your portfolio may skew over time due to the performance of the individual funds. At such point, your Financial Adviser may suggest that your portfolio be re-balanced through fund switches, to bring it back in line with the asset allocation in your original portfolio.
A fund switch involves the redemption of units in one or more funds, and using the redemption proceeds to subscribe for units in one or more other funds. Generally, your Financial Adviser should only recommend that you perform a fund switch if the replacement fund would continue to fit your risk tolerance, time horizon and financial goals, and is not detrimental to your interests.
Funds switches are subject to the minimum withdrawal/redemption levels set out in the Schedule – Funds Investment or accessible here.
Withdrawals / Redemptions (Sell)
You are at liberty to request, at any time, for a full or partial withdrawal from your Cash Account(s) (if any) or a full or partial redemption of your investments under any of your Investment Plans.
Withdrawals/redemptions are subject to the minimum withdrawal/redemption levels set out in the Schedule – Funds Investment or accessible here.
For more information regarding investment transactions, please contact your Financial Adviser.

Maximum Balance for SGD Cash Accounts
As of 8 August 2007, a maximum balance has been implemented against the aggregate cash balances in any Cash Accounts held under all Investment Plans, using cash or SRS monies for investment, of any individual Navigator investor, at the end of each calendar month (the "Maximum Balance"). The Maximum Balance is currently set at $35,000.
The Maximum Balance shall also apply to the aggregate cash balances in any Cash Accounts held under all Investment Plans, using cash or SRS monies for investment, that are jointly-owned by the same individuals (whether as non-minor or joint minor accounts), which shall be separately aggregated from those of individually-owned Investment Plans.
Navigator will review the aggregate cash balances in the Cash Accounts every 1st working day of each calendar month. If upon Navigator's review, the aggregate balance in your Cash Account(s) exceeds the Maximum Balance, Navigator will proceed to automatically refund any amount in excess of the Maximum Balance to you within 2 weeks from the review date.
In the case of cash refunds, the refund amount will either be credited into your nominated bank account under the relevant Navigator Investment Plan(s), otherwise Navigator will send a cheque to your last known address.
In the case of refunds of SRS monies, the refund amount will be credited into your SRS Account with the relevant SRS Operator.
