About Us
Sponsorship
At Aviva, we have been long time and passionate event sponsors, particularly sporting events that mirror the values of our brand. Our philosophy – to promote, health, well-being, and active lifestyles at all ages – is reflected in our enthusiasm for sport. It is just one way in which we encourage community spirit and personal development.
By providing opportunities for the community to get involved and get active, we strengthen the connection between health, fitness, and the values Aviva represents. We also value the chance to give back to the local sporting community and encourage participants to share in one of our core beliefs: even the most ambitious objectives are achievable.
Mr. Shaun Meadows, CEO of Aviva Singapore, Hong Kong and the Middle East, says, "At Aviva we promote values of progressiveness, team power and performance through health and vitality. That is why we truly believe in the energy in sports, especially those that inspires one to overcome adversities and have aspirations to achieve something in life. It is with this core belief in mind that we are happy to throw our support behind local and regional sporting events like the Aviva Ironman 70.30 and the Aviva Badminton Open."
Aviva Open Singapore
Interest in sport has exploded in Singapore, along with opportunities for event sponsorship. The marketplace for such sponsorships is as exciting and competitive as many of the events themselves. At Aviva, we know that one way to share our brand values and solidify our position as the leading provider of protection, savings, and investments is the sponsorship of key sporting events.
One such event is the Aviva Open Singapore, which has provided us with an excellent chance to demonstrate our commitment to sport while sharing Aviva's brand values. Our title sponsorship of the event begin in 2004 and has enabled the development of many talented players and provided plenty of exciting match play along the way. Aviva believes in the event so strongly we have extended our sponsorship through 2009.
Aviva Open also provides a valuable platform for Aviva to help the less privileged. For 2008, Aviva hosted Aviva Colour Day, where we pledged to donate S$1 for every spectator wearing an item of yellow clothing to the finals. The money, given to the charity Food From The Heart, was used to purchase food for underprivileged children and their families.

Aviva Ironman 70.3 Singapore
In the world of sport, there are few events more extreme than the Ironman competition. While not everyone has the endurance and stamina required to meet the Ironman challenge, it serves as a reminder that everyone has the potential to succeed. Aviva knows that sport and fitness is one way for people to realise this success. Our sponsorship of the Aviva Ironman 70.30 Singapore from 2007 to 2009 is another way to showcase our quest to inspire people to triumph over adversity and live a life of vitality and prosperity. These values, central to Aviva's business, are demonstrated through our sponsorship of this exciting event.
The Yellow Ribbon Project
At the 2009 race, we are delighted to continue our support to the work of the Yellow Ribbon Project (YRP), a registered charity that aims to help unlock the second prison of prejudice that ex-offenders face when they return to society. If the YRP Team successfully beats their time from last year, Aviva has pledged $10,000 in support of the project. We believe that in spite of past successes or failures, everyone can create a better future, especially with the people around them.
The Aviva Life Challenge Award
In 2009, Aviva launched the Aviva Life Challenge Award as part of its continuing efforts to recognise sporting excellence and the spirit of overcoming life's adversities in a deserving athlete. The Award, part of the Aviva sports sponsorship series, rewards the winner with a prize benefit that will help them move closer towards achieving their dreams. The inaugural launch was part of the Aviva Ironman 70.3 Singapore triathlon and the winner will have the opportunity to represent Singapore sponsored by Aviva at the Ironman 70.3 World Championships in Florida.
